This piece features a biker on a chopper type motorcycle, riding near the mountains with an angry eagle flying above, claws outstretched and was created using varying softnesses of drawing pencils. It is part of a series of drawings that were specifically worked up for a local Denver Motorcycle Art exhibit called “Chrome and Chroma”.
The pencils that were used included H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B and 5B. The 3, 4, and 5 B pencils are very soft style pencils. No erasers were used throughout the process of this drawing. A very light sketch is worked up on the illustration board and then the layering of darknesses are cross-hatched to create depth in the piece. This style of drawing is used to create tones and textures without smudging the piece. It was created using varying softnesses of drawing pencils.
